The series
This landmark series interweaves action driven ob-doc sequences with spectacular blue-chip wildlife stories.
In each episode, we experience transformation. From breaking down dams to let life flow again, teaching endangered birds how to migrate over mountain ranges, rebuilding food chains, reintroducing ultra-rare apex predators and locally extinct megafauna, brokering peace between people and predators, restoring habitats, and reviving migration corridors…
Intercut with incredible wildlife behavior sequences, the series uncovers the incredible dynamics of the natural world, from free-flowing rivers and wildfires to the role of apex predators and herbivores. It also tells a deeper story about our relationship with the natural world.
An inspiring story of nature comeback, scientific discovery, and frontline action, Europe’s New Wild offers hope for a dynamic, wilder future.

Emre Izat (Executive Producer)
Emre has developed and produced award-winning documentary series, one-o specials, digital interactive media, and feature docs for multiple global networks including Netflix, National Geographic, Discovery, History, ZDF, France Televisions, ID, MSNBC, TLC, and PBS. Although Emre’s work ranges in topics from crime to health, science, technology, and music, his core passion and interest lies in wildlife conservation and science. His films have been honored at the United Nations and shown at global conservation summits such as the World Conservation Congress and the UN CITES Conference of Parties. Key credits include the PBS- National Geographic series Gorongosa Park: Rebirth of Paradise, Mind of A Giant, and the feature documentary Naledi: A Baby Elephant’s Tale.
Kate Bradbury (Series Deviser)
Kate Bradbury’s work spans seven continents, including films for PBS, National Geographic, Channel 4 and Discovery. With a background in marine science, conservation and science is at her core. Naledi: A Baby Elephant’s Tale, which she co-produced, her first feature documentary, is now airing on Netlix worldwide.
Sarah Peat (Executive Producer/Series Producer)
Sarah is an award-winning Executive Producer. She devises and produces innovative and ground breaking television and acclaimed programmes, including Dian Fossey: Secrets in the Mist for National Geographic Channel, Hippo: Nature’s Wild Feast for Channel 4, John Bishop’s Gorilla Adventure for ITV and Countdown to the Rains for BBC2. In her native Canada, Sarah worked on a broad range of specialist factual programmes for CBC, Discovery and History Channel. Her work has won two Panda Awards as well as Gemini and Broadcast nominations.
Louis Labrom (British)
Louis is an experienced cameraman and camera technician working primarily in the natural history genre with a wide range of knowledge about ultra-high definition acquisition and animal behaviour, most notably in the global smash hit BBC series Planet Earth 2. In addition to camerawork, Louis consults many high-end productions on what equipment best suited their needs, as well as maintaining and managing a variety of HD and UHD camera equipment. Louis has also spent several years training in-house BBC staff and freelance cameramen/women in the very latest camera technology.
Emmanuel Rondeau (French)
Emmanuel is a Director of Photography specialized in Natural History and Science documentaries, his aim is to tell surprising stories to inspire people to care about our Planet. Emanuel has been shooting in every environment from the cold Russian Taïga to the deep jungle of Costa Rica. Emmanuel is an expert on big sensor cameras and rigs and has been in close collaboration with CANON France right from the release of the CANON 5D Mark 2 in 2008, by giving talks on Canon events and Masterclasses.
Alexander Sommer (German)
Alexander Sommer is a true rising star of European wildlife cinematographers. He specializes in expedition-heavy camerawork in remote location including the Peruvian Amazon and the low-oxygen heights of the Bolivian Altiplano, but has the most extensive experience in lming iconic European species such as the Eurasian lynx. Alex has filmed for National Geographic, ARD, Arte, Terra Mater, NDR, and Animal Planet.

Production
The Dadia Forest holds the last remaining breeding colony of black vulture in South-eastern Europe. The vultures naturally fly across the Rhodope Mountains and into Bulgaria to forage. The Rewilding Team wants to establish a permanent population there - just a single forest fire could spell the end of the species in this region…

- The series will highlight positive links between humans and nature.
- 4k blue chip wildlife sequences: including wolves hunting bison, reindeer migration, ultra-rare footage of wild lynx families.
- Tropic cascades: just like when wolves were introduced to Yellowstone, ecosystems are transformed.
