Europe's New Wild

Nature Unleashed

Producer: Off The Fence

Format: (6x60') Documentary series

Genre: Blue Chip Natural History & Science

Elevator pitch:

In the birthplace of the industrial revolution, a new revolution is taking place, unleashing the most powerful force on Earth - nature itself.

Earth is facing an extinction crisis. If the destruction continues, half of all species of plants and animals will disappear by the end of the century.

Now in a continent dominated by humans for millennia, where wildlife has been pushed to the brink, a movement has emerged to turn the tide: Rewilding.

From the frozen Arctic tundra to the arid landscapes of the southern Mediterranean, this series takes viewers on a panoramic journey across habitats to experience incredible stories from a wild revolution.

Just like when wolves were introduced to Yellowstone, we will see landscapes transformed as the actions have a knock-on effort across the ecosystem. The new arrival of lynxes helps preserve forests in Germany, bison create habitats for smaller creatures in Romania…

If this works here, then it can work anywhere in the world.
